"The days counting towards the burial were tough, most especially for my grandparents. They had it the toughest.
Now it was time to prepare for the burial, and my dad took both me and my little brother to a tailor, and the tailor took our measurements.
He told the tailor to sew two black suits for me and my little brother and to put a pin in the front pockets to pin our mom's picture there.
"I want it as soon as possible," my dad said.
After three days, we got the suits, and we tried them on.
They fit perfectly well.
My dad also got himself a black suit, which he bought at the market.
My grandparents got themselves some African wear.
Yes, I never told you, but I am African, and in my African culture, African wear is used to celebrate burials.
Not only my grandparents got the African wear, but my mom's sister, brothers, and everyone who knew about the burial got the African wear.
And like a flash, the burial day finally came.
This was the moment where the final goodbye was going to be said.
This was the day my mom was going to be laid deep down in the soil full of sand and not return again.
This was the moment when parents (my grandparents) say goodbye to their beloved daughter.
This was the moment family and friends say their last goodbye.
This was the moment kids (me and my brother) say goodbye to their mother.
And the day of that moment finally came."
